Martin Stadtfeld, pianist



The German pianist, Martin Stadtfeld, made his concert debut at the age of only nine. He was 13 when he began to study with Lev Natochenny at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt. The list of his competition successes begins with the "Jugend musiziert" Competition organised by the German Federal government. In 1997 he won the Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition in Paris and in 2001 caused a sensation as finalist in the Busoni Competition in Bolzano.

Welsh composer Alun Hoddinott has died

Welsh composer and pianist Alun Hoddinott has died at the age of 78, it has been announced. Mr Hoddinott, who was born in Bargoed, Caerphilly, had a partnership with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales spanning seven decades. The classical composer, who lived in Gower, Swansea, died at the city's Morriston Hospital on Wednesday. Dmitriy Efimov....Russian Composer-Pianist


He writes music for films, TV, games, singers... Dmitriy wrote music for the films: "Wrong Way", "Garage Tales" (FMCinema). His discography includes 5 albums which can be found on Dmitriy's official web-site. Dmitriy reached the semifinal annual competition of the ISC in 2007. He was born, 1974, in Moscow (Russia). He had no opportunity to be trained in music in educational institutions. Efimus studied piano at home, reading books, self-instruction manuals, and listening to music.
In 2003 Efimus recorded his first album "Beginning" - mix of different styles. Classic, New age, Easy listening...In 2006, aka "Efimus", he wrote music for "Garage Tales" a new film by Dmitriy Leschenko.
2007 a conceptual album "Great War". The music is devoted to events of the Second World War.
